IS mentor (Information Society mentor)qualification is to start in January 2006 – announced the Minister of Informatics and Communication, Kálmán Kovács (see on the picture) on 15th September 2005. The program will operate in the framework of the Ministry of Informatics and Communication, the EQUAL Partnership (IVSZ, Matisz, Inforum, Harke, NapraForgó Kht), the Budapest Business School and the EUTA (European Union of the Telecottages Association). The aim of this program is to familiarize the info-communication appliance with people with disabilities, and help them for example in the electronic administration. Hungary needs about 10-15 thousands of IS mentors according to the estimations. The education is going to take 1-3 years preferring applicants over 45 years old who are inactive workers. For the semesters hold in the Budapest Business School, it is possible to apply this autumn. The Ministry intends to extend the IS mentor education for the transborders as well.
