LIBRARIANS PLAYING THE ROLE OF IT-MENTORS
There are perceptible signs that the line of librarians are ever more excited at IT-mentoring. It is a most joyful thing, as in addition to telehouse workers this profession unites a wide circle of professionals, having deep traditional roots in providing information and expertise, and there is a must in progress and improvement of this line, as well. Péter Kiszl, an IT expert of library, a researcher (see photo) has denoted the role and chance creating activity of IT-mentor librarians a strategic D+R requirement in a periodical „Scientific Technical Information” (see under). At the end of the nineties Irene Wormell a Hungarian origin library researcher has turned the attention in her book (Information Service against Fee, Secrets of Succes, Informatical and Librarian Alliance, 1998) to the need for the renewal of the information technology service.. It is useful for the telehouse movement and the librarian sector, to jointly pilot the support of the network of IT-mentors. Close cooperation would be especially valuable because librarians take profound interest in IT-mentoring business and on the other hand they review IT-mentor profession from this point of view. http://tmt.omikk.bme.hu (Translation by Kati Visy) Gáspár Mátyás - 2006-03-29 09:06:46
